Idaho Comprehensive Cancer Strategic Plan 2026–2030
The Idaho Comprehensive Cancer Strategic Plan 2026–2030 is the state’s five-year roadmap for coordinated cancer prevention, screening and early detection, treatment, and survivorship efforts.
The plan helps partners across Idaho align efforts, identify opportunities for collaboration, and move statewide cancer control priorities into action.

About the Plan
The Idaho Comprehensive Cancer Strategic Plan is developed through a collaborative process involving statewide partners, data review, and priority setting across the cancer continuum.
The plan outlines shared goals, strategies, and measures to help reduce the burden of cancer in Idaho. It is intended for public health agencies, healthcare systems, clinics, nonprofit organizations, community partners, survivors, caregivers, and others working to improve cancer outcomes across the state.

How Partners Can Use the Plan
Partners across Idaho can use the plan to:

Implementation and Accountability
CCAI helps move the Idaho Comprehensive Cancer Strategic Plan from publication to action by convening partners, supporting workgroups, sharing resources, and highlighting implementation efforts across the state.
Implementation is supported through coalition workgroups and partner activities aligned with the plan’s goals and strategies. Progress will be tracked using available data, defined performance indicators, workgroup updates, and partner input.
Partner Initiatives: Strengthening Early Detection and Screening
Partners across Idaho are implementing initiatives that strengthen cancer screening systems and support earlier detection of cancer. These efforts complement the Idaho Comprehensive Cancer Strategic Plan and show how organizations across the state are already working to improve cancer outcomes.
One example is a CDC-funded, five-year initiative led by Comagine Health focused on increasing colorectal cancer screening among adults ages 45 to 75 who are at average risk in rural Idaho.
Through this initiative, participating clinics assess their current colorectal cancer screening workflows, data systems, and clinic processes. Based on the results, clinics select and implement at least three evidence-based interventions designed to improve screening systems and increase patient screening uptake.
CCAI seeks to align with and elevate partner-led efforts like this by supporting shared learning, coordination, and dissemination of effective approaches across Idaho.
